The current standings are as follows:

Manchester City – 85 points from 35 games
Arsenal – 81 points of 37 games
Newcastle United – 69 points of 36 games
Manchester United 69 points of 36 games
Liverpool – 66 points of 37 games

Arsenal, on Saturday, lost their 37th game to Nottingham Forest. Consequently their current standing is 81 points of 37 games. With only 1 game remaining in this season for Arsenal, Manchester City have a lead of 4 points with 3 more matches remaining.

Saturday’s game between Arsenal and Nottingham Forest was not just significant because it led to Manchester City’s win. This was a match between two invincible teams. On one hand Nottingham Forest set a new academic-style record for the longest streak of consecutive league matches without defeat, at 42. They achieved this extraordinary feat between November 26, 1977 and December 9, 1978. On the other hand, Arsenal won the EPL championship as well as the title ‘The Invincibles’ during the 2003-2004 season. Managed by Arsène Wenger, Arsenal remained unbeaten in all 38 league matches.

Tomorrow.events also predicted that Manchester United are likely to end up in the top 4 rankings, consequently progressing to the UEFA Champions League. On Saturday, the 37th match between Liverpool and Aston Villa ended in a draw. This consequently resulted in Manchester United needing only one point in their last two games in order to qualify for Champions League by achieving a top four finish.

Manchester City’s run of 11 consecutive victories in the closing weeks of the English Premier League season has been nothing short of remarkable.

On Super Sunday, Pep Guardiola’s team will be facing Chelsea in their final home game of the season. The world will see the defending champions taking the trophy again for the third time!

Tomorrow.events congratulates the English Premier League champions Manchester City on making history and winning their 3rd consecutive EPL!
